Hans Schmidt (Istra) Wrack
The origin of the sunken merchant steamship could not be clarified for a long time, so it was given the name “Istra” after its discovery. It was later given the name of its last owner from Germany: “Hans Schmidt”.
After a 40-minute boat trip, we reach the buoy. As we descend on the rope, we are accompanied by lush schools of fish. Once at the wreck, there are numerous sea creatures such as scorpion fish, conga eels, lobsters and cat sharks as well as some war material to be discovered in the sand around the wreck. This should of course remain untouched.
Due to the large number of fishing nets stuck all over the wreck, it is not advisable to dive into the wreck’s interior.
